What are neuromodulators?

Neuromodulators such as Botox and Xeomin are wrinkle relaxing injectable medications.

They are approved by Health Canada to temporarily improve the appearance of frown lines.

They have a proven safety record and they are approved in more than 20 countries around the world.

How do neuromodulators work?

Neuromodulators act on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting.

By reducing these contractions, neuromodulators can temporarily reduce expression lines like the ones on your forehead between your brows.

Xeomin, Botox, and Dysport generally work in the same way.

Relevant muscle relaxation is usually observed after 2 to 10 days.

The effects persist for approximately 3 months. The clinical effect due to general weakening of the injected muscles may last considerably longer.

Neuromodulators are clinically proven to last up to 16 weeks.

Botulinum Toxin Type A, the active ingredient in neuromodulators acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting.

By reducing these contractions, Botox or Xeomin Cosmetic can temporarily reduce expression lines like the ones on your forehead between your eyebrows.

What does a treatment involve?

Botox or Xeomin treatment is simple and fast.

The whole treatment is typically completed within 10-15 minutes.

A very fine needle is used and the discomfort is minimal. No anesthesia is required.

After treatment you will be fit to return to work or carry on your daily activities immediately.

Please advise of all prescription medicines, vitamins, and supplements that you may be taking.

My friends are all interested: Is there anyone who should not use Botox or Xeomin?

For safety reasons, Botox & Xeomin use is not recommended during pregnancy and nursing.

Do not use it if you are allergic to botulinum toxin or any other ingredients of neuromodulators.

Side effects are rare and generally not serious.

Please discuss any risks with your physician for more information.

Make sure to tell your doctor about all prescription and non prescription medications you take, including vitamins and supplements.

I can't wait: When will I see results?

You should start to see a smoothing, relaxing effect within 2-5 days.

The maximum effect is usually achieved within 2 weeks.

Neuromodulators can last up to 16 weeks and the average interval between treatments is normally about 3 months.
